Community Care Coordinator

The Congregational Care Coordinator is a new position identified by Church Council in response to a growing need for belonging, feeling cared for and finding connection with God and community. The purpose of the role is to deliver comprehensive and responsive pastoral/congregational care services to the congregation, their families, and to the broader community that we support.
Responsibilities
- a) In consultation with the Lead Minister, the Voluntary Associate Ministers, and volunteers, develop a comprehensive Congregational Care Team to ensure that the whole congregation has access to a strong ministry of visitation and care for all ages.
- b) Lead (and if qualified) provide pastoral support in the form of spiritual guidance, prayer and emotional support for the Congregation, according to the Ethical Guidelines and Standards of Practice of the United Church of Canada.
- c) Develop familiarity with various community resources in order to provide such information to congregants and their families.
- d) Recruit, train and support volunteers in the delivery of congregational care.
- e) Maintain a visible presence on Sundays and take part in leading prayer during worship with the congregation in order to build trust and be identified in this role.
This is a 20 hours per week paid position on a one year contract with the potential for extension. We offer a salary based on qualifications and experience, plus benefits.
